      • Comparison and application of different empirical correlations for estimating the hydrate safety mar

        As the oil and gas industries continue to increase their activity in deep water, gas hydrate hazards will become more serious and challenging, both at present and in the future.Accurate predictions of the hydrate-free zone and the suitable addition of salts and/or alcohols in preparing drilling fluids are particularly important both in preventing hydrate problems and decreasing the cost of drilling operations.In this paper, we compared several empirical correlations commonly used to estimate the hydrate inhibition effect of aqueous organic and electrolyte solutions using experiments with ethylene glycol (EG) as a hydrate inhibitor.The results show that the Najibi et al.correlation (for single and mixed thermodynamic inhibitors) and the Ostergaard et al.empirical correlation (for single thermodynamic inhibitors) are suitable for estimating the hydrate safety margin of oil-based drilling fluids (OBDFs) in the presence of thermodynamic hydrate inhibitors.According to the two correlations, the OBDE composed of 1.6 L vaporizing oil, 2% emulsifying agent, 1% organobentonite, 0.5% SP-1, 1% LP-1, 10% water and 40% EG, can be safely used at a water depth of up to 1900 m.However, for more accurate predictions for drilling fluids, the effects of the solid phase, especially bentonite, on hydrate inhibition need to be considered and included in the application of these two empirical correlations....

      • Effect of copper loading on texture, structure and catalytic performance of Cu/SiO2 catalyst for hyd

        Cu/SiO2 catalysts prepared by a convenient and efficient method using the urea hydrolysis deposition-precipitation (UHDP) technique have been proposed focusing on the effect of copper loading.The texture,structure and composition are systematically characterized by ICP,FTIR,N2-physisorption,N2O chemisorption,TPR,XRD and XPS.The formation of copper phyllosilicate is observed in Cu/SiO2 catalyst by adopting UHDP method,and the amount of copper phyllosilicate is related to copper loading.It is found the structure properties and catalytic performance is profoundly affected by the amount of copper phyllosilicate.The excellent catalytic activity is attributed to the synergetic effect between Cu0 and Cu+.DMO conversion and EG selectivity are determined by the amount of Cu0 and Cu+,respectively.The proper copper loading (30 wt%) provides with the highest ratio of Cu+/Cu0,giving rise to the highest EG yield of 95% under the reaction conditions of p =2.0 MPa,T =473 K,H2/DMO =80 and LHSV =1.0 h-1....

      • In situ time-resolved FTIRS study of adsorption and oxidation of ethylene glycol on Pt(100) electrod

        Adsorption and oxidation of ethylene glycol (EG) on Pt(100) electrode were studied by in situ time- resolved FTIRS (TRFTIRS). The TRFTIR spectra recorded at 0.10 V illustrate that an IR band appears near 2050 cm-1 at t > 5 s, corresponding to linearly bonded CO formed in dissociative adsorption of EG. The TRFTIR results have confirmed also that CO species are distributed uniformly on Pt(100) surface. Another band appears near 2342 cm-1 at t > 70 s, associating with IR absorption of CO2 produced in the direct oxidation of EG. With the increase of electrode potential, the direct oxidation of EG becomes gradually the main reaction. When the potential is above 0.40 V, the oxidation of EG occurs mainly via the reactive intermediates, i.e. species containing -COOH determined by in situ TRFTIRS....

        The 2-methylpyrazine was synthesized by catalytic reaction of ethylene diamine and propylene glycol at 380℃. The alumina supported copper catalysts with promoter were prepared by impregnation method, characterized by ICP-AES, BET and TPR.         A simple approach for the condensation of benzaldehyde with ethylene glycol was adopted without employing any catalyst.The study reveals that factors including temperature,molar ratio of reactants,and the water removal significantly influence the conversion ratio of benzaldehyde.The results indicate that the use of optimal reaction conditions such as temperature and water removing exhibits more pronounced effects on the conversion ratio of benzaldehyde compared with the use of catalysts.In a word,a green and simple method for the condensation of aldehyde and menthandiol has been devised and investigated....

      • Catalytic Performance and Texture of TEOS Based Cu/SiO2 Catalysts for Hydrogenation of Dimethyl Oxal

        Highly active and selective Cu/SiO2 catalysts for hydrogenation of dimethyl oxalate(DMO) to ethylene glycol(EG) were successfully prepared by means of a convenient one-pot synthetic method with tetraethoxysilane(TEOS) as the source of silica.XRD,H2-TPR,SEM,TEM,XRF and N2 physisorption measurements were performed to characterize the texture and structure of Cu/SiO2 catalysts with different copper loadings.The active components were highly dispersed on SiO2 supports.Furthermore,the coexistence of Cu0 and Cu+ contributed a lot to the excellent performance of Cu-TEOS catalysts.The DMO conversion reached 100% and the EG selectivity reached 95% at 498 K and 2 MPa with a high liquid hourly space velocity over the 27-Cu-TEOS catalyst with an actual copper loading of 19.0%(mass fraction)....

      • Ethylene glycol aluminum as a novel catalyst for the synthesis of poly(ethylene terephthalate)

        Ethylene glycol aluminum was prepared efficiently and characterized by FT-IR and NMR. It exhibited higher catalytic activity and had profitable effect than titanium glycolate and ethylene glycol antimony for the synthesis of poly(ethylene terephthalate) (PET). It was only used as polycondensation catalyst because it was sensitive to water. For this catalyst, the degree of esterification of the theoretical amount of water was produced up to 95% at 260 ℃, while the intrinsic viscosity and content of terminal carboxyl groups of the corresponding PET polyester, polymerized at 280℃, 70 Pa for 39 min, was 0.87 dL/g and 23.0 μmol/g, respectively.       • Chemical Modification of Silk Fibers with Ethylene Glycol Dimethacrylate

        Silk fibers have been grafted with ethylene glycol dimethacrylate (EGDMA) and characteristics of the grafted silk fibers were analyzed in relation to the graft yield on the basis of the tensile properties, dyeing behaviour, durability during laundering and solubility of the specimen in NaOH solution. The amount of the acid dye absorbed by the fibers decreased with increasing graft yield, while the value of rating for washing fastness on silk fibers was almost unchanged by the graft treatment. The breaking loads of the fiber were almost unchanged whereas rigidity of the fibers increased after graft treatment. Graft treatment enhanced silk fiber durability during laundering and in NaOH solution....

      • Influence of Ethylene Glycol on the Formation of Calcium Phosphate Nanocrystals

        A synthesis route of using calcium hydroxide Ca(OH)2 with ethylene glycol solvent and orthophosphoric acid (H3PO4)as reagents is described. Three ratios of ethylene glycol to distilled water 1:0, 1:1 and 0:1 are used as diluting media for Ca(OH)2. Crystals of different morphology and composition are formed under weak alkaline circumstance at pH 7.0~8.0. Acicular calcium phosphate nanocrystals are prepared in pure ethylene glycol while rod-like calcium phosphate nanocrystals form in pure distilled water. The nanograde size of the former is smaller than that of the latter. Calcium-deficient apatite (CDAP) is obtained with a Ca/P molar ratio of 1.66. Therefore, it was deduced that the usage of ethylene glycol solvent could influence the formation of calcium phosphate crystal lattice....

      • Effects of ethanol on the in situ synthesized Cu/SiC》2 catalyst: Texture, structure, and the catalyt

        The Cu/SiO2 catalysts were in situ synthesized by the hydrolysis of tetraethyl orthosilicate (TEOS) in one phase solution using ethanol as co-solvent or TEOS/H2O two phases solution, followed by the precipitation of copper on SiO2 by ammonia evaporation. In the hydrogenation of dimethyl oxalate, the catalyst prepared by one phase hydrolysis exhibited higher activity and ethylene glycol (EG) selectivity at lower temperature than that of two phases due to its larger BET surface area and multimodal pore distribution. At 488-503 K, the catalyst prepared in one phase solution with water/ethanol (W/E) volume ratio of 3:1 exhibited 90-95% EG selectivity, while catalyst prepared by two phase hydrolysis reached 90% EG selectivity only at 498-503 K....

      • Modeling and Optimization of Catalytic Dehydration of Ethanol to Ethylene Using Central Composite De

        The central composite design in the modeling and optimization of catalytic dehydration of ethanol to ethylene was performed to improve the ethylene yield. A total of 20 experiments at random were conducted to in-vestigate the effect of reaction temperature, Si/Al ratios of H-ZSM-5 catalyst and liquid hourly space velocity (LHSV)on the ethylene yield. The results show that the relationship between ethylene yield and the three signifi-cant independent variables can be approximated by a nonlinear polynomial model, with R-squared of 99.9% and adjusted R-squared of 99.8%. The maximal response for ethylene yield is 93.4% under the optimal condition of 328 ℃, Si/Al ratio 85, and LHSV 3.8 h-1....

        采用300 mL反應釜進行乙烯直接氯化的實驗,對低溫、中溫和高溫氯化3種乙烯直接氯化工藝的二氯乙烷選擇性和系統熱負荷進行比較,考察NaCl助催化劑用量和乙烯與氯氣的分壓比對二氯乙烷選擇性的影響.實驗結果表明,與低溫氯化工藝相比,中溫和高溫氯化工藝二氯乙烷的選擇性分別降低了約0.10%和0.25%,但系統熱負荷與低溫工藝相比從624.7 kJ/h分別降至304.1 kJ/h和265.2 kJ/h;NaCl助催化劑的加入可打破FeCl3的二聚體,當NaCl與FeCl3的摩爾比為1∶3時能明顯提高二氯乙烷的選擇性;乙烯與氯氣的分壓比為1.25時,低溫、中溫和高溫3種氯化工藝的二氯乙烷選擇性分別可達到99.90%,99.86%,99.81%....

        采用便攜式微量水分析儀和庫侖法微量水分析儀測定了乙烯、丙烯試樣中的微量水含量,對試樣的傳輸系統、進樣量的控制、液體試樣的氣化和水標準氣體的制備方法進行了改進,優化了測試條件.以低吸附惰性管線和小死體積單進單出的不銹鋼減壓器為試樣傳輸系統,縮短了測試時間.采用液態烴閃蒸氣化取樣進樣器氣化液體試樣并準確控制試樣的進樣量,可避免液體試樣漸次氣化對水含量測定結果的影響及對采樣鋼瓶大小的限制.采用滲透管發生器制備水標準氣體,可驗證分析結果的準確度.采用庫侖法微量水分析儀測定水含量時,試樣流量選擇600 mL/min較適宜,開封保存15 d之內的卡爾·費休試劑對測定結果無影響.采用便攜式微量水分析儀測定水含量時,選擇試樣流量在400~800 mL/min之間較適宜.兩種儀器的測量結果相近,穩定性好,準確度高,回收率在102%~ 107%之間,相對偏差小于10%....

        用色-質聯用方法對經純化處理的4種國內外柴油降凝劑進行分析,確定了它們純化后所得聚合物均為乙烯-醋酸乙烯酯.對柴油組分及其調合柴油進行降凝劑感受性試驗,結果表明,乙烯-醋酸乙烯酯降凝劑對柴油具有較好的降凝效果,對加氫柴油及其調合柴油具有較好的降低冷濾點效果,當加劑量為500 μg/g時,加入降凝劑B能使加氫柴油的冷濾點降低12 ℃,加入降凝劑C可使-20號調合柴油的冷濾點降低20 ℃.分析柴油的正構烷烴含量及其碳數分布,結果表明,正構烷烴含量低且具有較高含量低碳數正構烷烴柴油的低溫性質較好;正構烷烴含量低、碳數分布寬、含有少量高碳數正構烷烴的柴油的加劑感受性較好....

      • 不同果肉質地桃果實乙烯生成規律及其對乙烯的反應

        為鑒定耐貯運桃品種霞脆的肉質類型,以八成熟軟溶質品種銀花露、硬溶質品種湖景蜜露、不溶質品種金童6號、Stonyhard品種有名白桃和霞脆果實為試驗材料,通過氣相色譜法測定并比較采后貯藏過程中的乙烯釋放規律.結果表明:采后貯藏過程中,銀花露、湖景蜜露、金童6號桃果實乙烯釋放均呈先升后降的趨勢,并有顯著的乙烯峰出現,果實硬度隨貯藏時間推移而下降,銀花露和湖景蜜露果實在貯藏末期硬度均低于1.0 kg·cm-2.有名白桃和霞脆桃采后成熟過程中釋放極少量乙烯,經外源乙烯處理后,霞脆果實硬度未出現快速下降現象,貯藏末期果實硬度仍可達到3.5 kg·cm-2以上.研究認為,霞脆桃肉質為Stonyhard類型....
